Brrrrrrrrr!
Walking through the ice and snow up to grab the paper this morning made me realize I need some warmer accessories. Checking out the Handmade Highway, I found Valerie's Gallery on etsy full of these luscious scarves and scarflettes:

Birthdays...
In my family, presentation of a birthday present is half of the present itself. Even for the young kids make sure a gift, whether it was from the Dollar Tree or created out of a toilet paper roll, is nicely wrapped complete with homemade bow.
I'm not exactly sure how my husband took it the first year he met my family, but now he loves to join in the fun. Although he cares more about wrapping the gift such that you have no idea what could be inside...
Like this rocket here...

Sales, Sales, Sales!!
Don't you just love finding sales? I certainly do! Last night I was browsing through some of my favorite shops on etsy and noticed a few of them are running sales this weekend!
Aunt Jane Can has a variety of fantasy art and free shipping on everything. (So I got myself another of her fairy notecards!)
Risky Beads, creator of the handmade highway, has accessories with attitudes all at 15% off through Sunday. (This bracelet is definitely going on my list of wants to be put under hubby's nose!)
Dinnertime Chimes creates unique recycled gifts and is running a sale on windchimes and owl ornaments. (I'm always looking at the fork easels in this store, but the bright colors of these owl ornaments have caught my eye!)
Satin Stitchery, fellow hitchhiker on the handmade highway, has embroidered purses and gifts and is offering 20% off in a few sections of her shop (I know someone who could use this great cell phone pouch as a gift.)
And as always, if you need a gift for your beach lover, don't forget to stop by Shore Debris to find beach theme jewelry and home decor all at 20% off until Sunday night!

California Blue Giveaway Winner!
Recently, I've been busy entering myself in a bunch of giveaways. Fellow hitchiker on the handmade highway, California Blue sponsored a giveaway on her own blog and I was lucky enough to be the random winner so I thought I'd share a quick picture of my winnings. I got my choice of her summer designs - I selected the "Beach Casual" earrings. (Sounds like me, doesn't it!)
So over the weekend, I go this cute little blue box in the mail - I like how the color matches the theme of the store :) Inside it were these little beauties:
Please excuse my pre-dawn photos with the kitchen light - I don't think it does the earrings justice. I won these at the same time that I ordered a couple of things on etsy and these arrived faster. The quality is outstanding - the earwires have been hammered in the fashion that I like and the wrapped loops above the beads are perfect. I can definitely recommend California Blue as a quality jewelry maker and don't forget to check out her new autumn collection!
