If I could go anywhere, where would I go?

I have been very lucky in the first half of my life that I enjoyed extensive traveling - seeing ancient wonders like Prambanan,
scaling mountains to enjoy views of active volcanoes, viewing native arts done in centuries-old fashion, staring in amazement at the damage done to Borobudor by imperialists of the past...
One thing is completely missing from my travel diary: Europe!

And if I only had one place to pick in all of Europe, I'd say I want to see the beautiful Irish countryside that has inspired so many poems and other written works

plus a castle or two... because what little girl never dreamed of living in a castle?

At this moment, I'd have to pick somewhere tropical...

I love Ireland, have been there twice - I even headed up an 11-day singles bed & breakfast trip with rental cars a few years ago! My daughters' paternal grandmother was from Sligo, Ireland.

I have truly enjoyed the many places that I have visited and lived, especially all of Europe (lived in Italy for 5 years and Germany 3 years) and the Far East (China, Japan, Philippines). My next place I want to visit is Australia, New Zealand, and Thailand.

Beki - definitely feeling the tropical urge, too! I think I got spoiled yesterday when suddenly I didn't need the large coat.

Linda - I was thinking of doing a bed and breakfast across Ireland one of these years... I like the idea of a day or two in each town.
